I hope everyone who wanted to have a good Halloween did, in whatever form you chose.
At the Bayne household we celebrate all weekend with parties and cooking. Now we are all tired, groggy, bloated and bleary-eyed.
Now it is November, and many portentous and interesting things are the offing. Elections, Nanowrimo, All Saints Day, Day of the Dead…
I think there must be some central element these things hang on, a spoke around which this strange wheel must turn. Perhaps it is this, all things are inevitable, Death, Taxes and Storytelling.
If you find yourself looking down the barrel of the Nano experience I wish you strong work, good luck and bravery.
I tried it last year and while I missed 50k words by about 4k I ended up writing a 598 page novel… I think at a moment like this there is a good quote to throw out, keeps things looking classy here at Endiron Entertainment.
“It’s a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no telling where you might be swept off to.” – Bilbo Baggins
That is exactly how I feel about Nanowrimo right there, god damn right.
Never get off the boat…
